With the Spring-like weather we’ve had lately it isn’t hard to think about the events and activities happening in the upcoming months.  We want to bring your attention to a couple of them from our neighbors in Anacortes.

Coupeville Festival Association and the Anacortes Arts Festival have very similar goals – promoting quality arts and handcrafts, giving back to the community, and enriching the lives of our residents to name a few. We thought you may like to venture off island to enjoy these events while supporting the arts.

After a successful first spring art event they are eagerly anticipating the 2nd annual Art in Bloom.  The exhibit will feature work from 25 of their best fine artists and booth artists.  The exhibit is April 10-18 and is located at the Depot Arts and Community Center, 611 R Ave in Anacortes.

For those of you wanting to participate in becoming a bit of art you may be interested in the first annual Do The Bloom 5k color run!  As you run through the color stations every half mile or so you add a bit more color to the canvas – you! Sounds like a lot of fun!

Proceeds from both of these events will go back into the community.  More information can be found on their website, AnacortesArtFestival.com.
