I create ceramic hardgoods for modern houseplant parents, including planters, pendant grow lamps, propagation stations, & potting tools, along with hand-raised tropical houseplants to compliment them!
All pottery is wheel-thrown stoneware clay. I then carve the pots using sgraffito or relief techniques using colored slip, stains or underglazes. I also use a watercolor majolica glazing. Food safe.
My ceramic works are heavily influenced by my background in construction and ecology. I incorporate unique = textures in the creation of my functional pieces to honor the natural world around us.
These collaborative artists create Fine Art Paintings with handmade clay tiles as their canvas. Tiles are fired at 2350 degrees producing glass surfaces exhibiting brilliant colors and textures.
I create hand-built and wheel-thrown pieces that are textured, colorful and functional.
I use high fire clay to hand build a wide variety of pieces using age old techniques including coil, pinch and slab.. I mix all glazes in studio creating a template of earth tones.
Each piece is thrown or handbuilt porcelain that is decorated with underglaze and fired to cone 6.
Thrown and/or handbuild with different color clay to create useable and whimsical pottery. Depending of my work, I handpaint details or/and glaze. All of my pieces are fully functional and food safe.
The Whidbey Clay Center booth will feature handmade pottery and ceramics made by our local Whidbey Island member artists.
